I was getting into Matrix before when you had it up and running, and remember discussions about some of the elements not being mature.

This sounds pretty exciting!

Matrix/Synapse is mature and very secure. We still use it as encrypted messaging, video conferencing, sharing desktop for presentation is very good with Jitsi built in. We are looking at SimpleX at the moment as options to run in tandem and evaluation.
