I ❤️ Hummingbirds

They are going migrate soon, but get your feeders back out in March 2025!

In Texas, hummingbird season typically spans March through October, with some variation depending on the region:

  • Spring Migration: Hummingbirds begin arriving in Texas as early as March, with most species, including Ruby-throated and Black-chinned hummingbirds, appearing in greater numbers by April.
  • Peak Season: The busiest time for hummingbird activity is typically late August through September when both resident and migrating hummingbirds are in abundance. This period is when the birds fuel up for their southward migration.
  • Fall Migration: Many hummingbirds begin their migration southward through Texas in September and October. Some may linger until late October or early November, especially along the Gulf Coast.

In the Rio Grande Valley and other warmer southern areas of Texas, some hummingbirds, like Buff-bellied Hummingbirds, may be seen year-round.

We have had feeders out for about 30 years here…
We love the little guys! I’m poking around looking for a photo I too through our Dining Room Window.
